🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Express Anger About Sizing Changes Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for women's and children's garments but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Updates Previously, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
